Doctor's Group Opposes Mandatory Vaccines At the 57th Annual Meeting of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), members passed a resolution calling for an end to mandatory childhood vaccines. The resolution passed without a single "no" vote. Executive Director of the AAPS, Jane Orient, M.D. says that "our children face the possibility of death or serious long-term adverse effects from mandated vaccines that aren't necessary or that have very limited benefits." One example is hepatitis-B, which mainly affects adults and is transmitted by multiple sex partners and shared needles during drug abuse. Many schools require (although all states allow medical and/or religious exemptions) hepatitis-B vaccines even though children under 14 years of age are three times more likely to experience adverse reactions to the vaccine than they are to contract the disease itself. For more information on the dangers of vaccination, the National Vaccine Information Center maintains an extremely informative website at: http://www.909shot.com or they can be reached at 512 W. Maple Avenue, #206, Vienna, VA 22180. Their phone number is 1-800-909-SHOT (7468).
