About Dr. Greenwood
Philip Greenwood was born in 1961 in Pasadena, CA and grew up with a wide variety of interests in sports, martial arts, aviation and music. He composed, orchestrated and performed his first full length piano concerto as a high school senior and went on to college on a full music scholarship. He was also an avid sailplane pilot through his college years. He obtained a B.A. in religious studies in 1982.
At the age of 4 Philip sufferened from severe chronic earaches. A friend of his mother suggested she take him to the chiropractor because it had helped her children with the same problem. Within a few adjustments the earaches were gone for good.
As a track and field athlete (short distance sprinter and high jump) in high school, Philip had the opportunity to train with Olympic coach Harry Sneider, coach of the legendary 3 time world record holder and Olympic high jumper Dwight Stones. Early in his training Philip was introduced to the fact that Dwight and nearly every other member of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field team were under regular chiropractic care. Today chiropractic is widely used among athletes of all types to keep their bodies healthy, free of injury and performing at their peak.

As a teen Philip also started training in the Japanese martial art of Aikido, which involves using the force of opponent's own attack in order to bring them under control. Today he is a 5th degree black belt in Aikido and a 5th degree black belt in Iaido (Japanese swordsmanship) and teaches both arts to the public at Greenwood Aikido.
After completing his undergraduate he returned to school to obtain his Doctorate of Chiropractic. While studying at Cleveland Chiropractic College, Dr. Greenwood served as Chairman of the Student Clinic Advisory Committee for the Cleveland Clinic and received the singular Clinic Excellence Award for his graduating class. He also received a perfect score on the State Clinical Competency exam. After receiving his doctorate he mentored with Dr. Takao Nakagawa, a Japanese chiropractor and acupuncturist of renowned clinical and technical skill and the late Dr. C. Lance West, who was a major force in the world of Chiropractic Applied Kinesiology.
In addition to his two decades of clinical practice, Dr. Greenwood's physical and technical skills have been honed from 35 years of training in traditional Japanese martial arts. The Japanese martial arts carry a close relationship to the healing arts where an intuitive sense of the body, physical skill and sensitivity are refined to an extremely high level. Dr. Greenwood brings his 20 years of experience in modern Western chiropractic together with his experience in traditional Japanese healing methods including Sekkotsu (joint adjusting), Seitai (aligning and balancing the body) Anma (muscle treatment) and Shinden Jutsu (organ and ligament balancing). Each of these methods provides a gentle and effect way of relieving pain and restoring good health and function to the body.
Dr. Greenwood has practiced chiropractic in the Temecula Valley since 1991. He lives with his lovely wife and two daughters who share his passion for good health, music and the joys and adventure of life.
